Church Reopening Update

Re-Opening Message, 4/20/2021

The Episcopal Church in Minnesota (ECMN) has approved our COVID19 Re-entry Procedure Plan, Phase 1.5 !

WORSHIP SERVICES

Everyone in the building is required to wear a mask at all times, including anyone who has completed the vaccinations. The CDC recommends that even those that are vaccinated wear a mask in larger gatherings, especially when unvaccinated people are present. This may be overly cautious, however as it is not possible for us to tell who has been vaccinated, and out of courtesy to everyone as well as showing a unified response to the virus and ECMN requirements, we all need to mask.

The Ad Hoc Committee has created a plan for when we can again have indoor services. This plan has been approved by ECMN for regathered, in- person worship in the sanctuary, when the positivity rate in the tri-county area is lower than 5%.

Current rates as of Sunday April 18th are:

Stearns County 6.5%
Benton County 5.9%
Sherburne County 10.7%

They have been quite volatile. However, in the 1.5 Plan we can have in person outdoor services with certain precautions. To track the local positivity rates go to CovidActNow.org to look up individual counties. Note the rates are daily, not weekly.  Stearns County positivity rate within the week of April 12-18 has been over 8%.

We hope to hold an outdoor Pentecost service on May 23 which would include a baptism.  Weather permitting of course.

Any outdoor services will also be live-streamed for anyone who cannot or prefers not to attend the outdoor service.

ECMN has approved the opening of the Parish Hall for use by small groups (approximately 20 persons or fewer). The groups will follow our protocol regarding wearing masks, contact tracing and social distancing. The contact tracing documents will be kept by the respective group leaders.

These groups will be advised, as necessary, of any other protocols which may be required.

As always, this is a fluid situation and changes in these plans are expected.  We can only pray that the changes are due to favorable conditions.
